Lisa Moorish

Singer-songwriter Lisa Moorish, originally from Brixton, began her music career in 1989, aged 17. She released two singles with Jive Records before signing to Polydor in the early 90s under the name Lisa M. Moving then to Go! Discs, she released her biggest hits, which included ‘Mr Friday Night’ and ‘I’m Your Man’, a duet with George Michael. Moorish went on to record backing vocals with some of the biggest Britpop bands – Oasis, Blur and Ash – before starting her own indie electro punk band, Kill City, in the early noughties. She has now returned to music after a 20-year hiatus, with an album release in 2024 on Irvine Welsh’s new label.
