Goldie (Clifford Price)
Clifford Price MBE, better known as ‘Goldie’, is a music producer, artist, actor and DJ. Active as a graffiti artist in the mid-1980s, by the early 1990s he was a leading figure in the British breakbeat music scene. A pioneer of jungle and drum ‘n’ bass in the UK, Goldie released his first album, Timeless – regarded as a landmark of drum ‘n’ bass – in 1995. Credited as being a driving force behind innovations in the genre, he went on to collaborate with David Bowie, Noel Gallagher, KRS-One and others. In film, he appeared in the 1999 James Bond film The World is not Enough and Guy Ritchie’s Snatch.
