Neequaye Dreph Dsane
Visual artist Neequaye Dreph Dsane, also known as Dreph, is committed to portraying and celebrating the diverse individuals in his community. His large-scale street murals and studio pieces, informed by conversations, sketches and photographs, aim to present alternative narratives and capture the inherent humanity of his subjects – among them are friends, family members and people he has encountered while painting in the streets. Dreph also works in series, which invite viewers on a journey through the city. He has taught in various educational settings and institutions and recently embarked on an MFA in painting at the Slade School of Fine Art.
