Sir Rod Stewart
Sir Rod Stewart is one of Britain’s greatest singer-songwriters. He started his career by performing with several UK bands in the 1960s before embarking on his solo career. ‘Maggie May’ became his first hit single in 1971, followed by his hits ‘Tonight’s the Night’ in 1976 and ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?’ in 1978. His voice is unforgettable and spans decades of number one albums. ‘Rarely has a singer had as full and unique a talent as Rod Stewart’, according to The Rolling Stone Illustrated History of Rock & Roll. In 2004, he was awarded a Grammy for best traditional pop vocal album with Stardust: The Great American Songbook, Volume III. In 2006, he returned to rock music with Still The Same: Great Rock Classics of Our Time. The album reached the top of the pop charts in October of that year.
